Dr. Anantha Sudhakar is Assistant Professor in the Asian American Studies Department at San Franscico State University. She previously held a postdoctoral fellowship in the Asian American Studies Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Sudhakar’s research interests are in South Asian American literature and culture; diaspora and transnationalism; social justice and arts activism; and, gender studies and queer theory. She is currently working on a book manuscript entitled, Conditional Futures; Arts Activism and the Rise of a New South Asian American Left. She is also co-editing, with Vanita Reddy, a special issue of the peer-reviewed online journal, Scholar & Feminist Online. The issue, “Afro-Asian Feminist and Queer Formations” is scheduled for publication in Fall 2017. Dr. Sudhakar received her Ph.D. in English from Rutgers University.
